UNDERSTUDIES

Lani Cataldi

Lani is a woman who wears many hats.  She is an accomplished actor, singer (both opera and rock), costume designer, music composer, and mother of two.  I guess you’d have to wear a lot of hats to do all that.

She has played such diverse roles as Miss Hannigan in Annie, The Witch in Into The Woods, Aldonza in Man Of La Mancha, and Cleopatra in Murder By Shakespeare, as well as numerous roles in the Gemini Theater (which she helps to run as well as writing all the original music). And she has performed as Mimi in La Boehme, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, and Lola in Gallantry.

She has also appeared in a number of movies including: The Balance, Death Penalty, Silent Witness, Alone in The Neon Jungle, and Kid Brother.  And she is currently singing with a band.  Is there anything this woman doesn’t do?

Jeffrey Chips

Jeff is thrilled to have the opportunity to perform with Much Ado. He has done a lot of work with the Gemini Theater Company, performing in their productions of A Little Christmas Carol, Aladdin, and Beauty and the Beast.

Other credits include As You Like It (Jacques), The Laramie Project (Seven Roles), Oedipus the King (Shepherd), Come Back, Little Sheba (Bruce), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Snout/Wall), and Into the Woods (Jack). He is a graduate of Allegheny College with a BA in Theatre. He would like to thank Joe and Michelle for the opportunity to perform with Much Ado, and would also like to thank Mom, Dad, and Megan for their love and support.

Michael Moran

A native of Cleveland and an avid Brown's fan, Michael graduated from Wheeling Jesuit University with a degree in History.  It was there he became involved in theater.

Since graduating, he has appeared in numerous plays, one-acts, musicals, and commercials; and actually lived in Los Angeles for a time where he appeared in several independent films.  Of course, to keep the bills paid, Michael worked as the Theater Director for the Los Angeles Zoo where he was also a party animal for children's birthday parties. Some of the notable Hollywood stars he has worked for include Jean Claude Van Damme, Lionel Ritchie, Chuck Woolery, and Katie Segal.

Though LA held some excitement, he and his wife, Tonya, decided to return to the Ohio Valley with the birth of their son, Brogan.

As an understudy of The Unusual Suspects Mystery Theatre, Michael often lends his support to our West Virginia counterpart, Mystery Theatre Unlimited in Wheeling as well.

Brad Sadler

Brad is a cum laude graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, having majored in both Theater Performance and English Literature.

After graduating, he scored a job an understudy at the Great River Shakespeare Festival in Winona, Minnesota, where he understudied the roles of The Duke of Buckingham, The Earl of Rivers, and the Earl of Richmond as well as several others in “Richard III”.  He also portrayed Duke Orsinio in their understudy production of “Twelfth Night”.

Soon after the Festival, he toured with Bridgework Theater for 6 months, performing anti-bullying shows to school children from Wisconsin to New Jersey.

Since returning to The Burgh he has performed with such notable theaters as Apple Hill Playhouse, The Theater Factory, and Greensburg Civic Theater where he's been seen in everything from: Cat On A Hot Tin Roof and Crimes Of The Heart to The Boys Next Door, Company and The Pajama Game He has also been seen in several one act plays for The Pittsburgh New Works Festival and is currently involved with The Amish Monkeys Improv Comedy Troupe.

Add to that the myriad of sick people he portrays as a standardized patient for UPMC, and you have a man who is busy being a lot of other people.

Carol Wiltman

Carol has been a mainstay in the Pittsburgh theater community for a number of years.  She has performed in everything from serious roles at The Red Barn Theatre to performing musical reviews with Gorman Lowe; from Don Brockett Productions to playing various roles in The Macy's Christmas shows; from commercials and voice-overs to mystery dinner theatre (hey...that's what we do!)

A full time Mom and active member of her church, Carol keeps busy singing with her choir and performing around the Burgh.

David Ogrodowski

Dave is a relative newcomer to theater in Pittsburgh.  He got his start as a supernumerie with The Pittsburgh Opera where he found himself playing the whip man in Billy Bud.  "Bull whips are fun!"  As well, he has performed at The Old Bank Theater in Verona and McKeesport Little Theater. At the time of this bio he is currently working on his role as The King in Comtra Theater's Once Upon A Mattress; a role which admittedly is a lot more work than his three lines would suggest (he plays a very lively mute).

He is truly grateful for the opportunity to perform with Much Ado Entertainment.

Bob Roberts

A veteran of over 50 stage productions, television & radio commercials, movies, and variety shows, this is Bob's first appearance with

Much Ado Entertainment, although he has performed in nearly 200 comedy/mystery dinner theatre shows with other groups.

Bob studied at the Pittsburgh Playhouse and has worked with a number of companies in Pittsburgh, along with Johnstown & Cresson, Cumberland, MD and Suffield, CT. A favorite appearance was at the Hazlett Theatre in '03 with nationally known comedian, Charlie Prose, as Dr. Morrissey in Send Me No Flowers. Other favorites include; Ivan Batanovic in the world premiere of The Music Lesson, Juror #9 in Twelve Angry Men, Salvatore Bustebrizzio in Never Get Smart With An Angel, Dr. Einstein in Arsenic And Old Lace, Father Damon Fitzgerald in Flanagan's Wake and Uncle Luis in Tony and Tina's Wedding.

All in all, what Bob enjoys most is being able to make people laugh - especially in today's world!
